VIEWING THE OPERATING MANUAL ON THE CD
The CD contains the extensive operating manual for the oscilloscope (in English). The
manual explains all functions in detail.
USB PORT ON THE FRONT OF THE OSCILLOSCOPE
You can connect a USB stick to the USB port below the display. The USB stick must have a
FAT32
fi
le system (not NTFS or EXT3 and so on) in order to be recognised.
The entire screen content (including the currently displayed menus) can be saved via the key
“SAVE TO USB” located in the top right area of the oscilloscope’s control panel.
Before you remove the USB stick from the oscilloscope, wait for at least 10 seconds for the write
process to be completed. Otherwise, there might be no data on the UBS stick when you connect
the stick to a computer.
CLEANING
Always observe the following safety instructions before cleaning the device:

When opening covers or removing parts, apart from those removable by hand,
live parts may be exposed.
Prior to cleaning or repairing of the device, all cables have to be detached and the
device has to be turned off. Switch the oscilloscope off and remove the mains plug.
Never use benzine, alcohol, ethyl alcohol or the like for cleaning. This will corrode
the surface of the oscilloscope and result in discolouration or damage of the labels.
Furthermore, the fumes are hazardous to your health and are explosive.
Sharp-edged tools such as screwdrivers or metal brushes should not be used for
cleaning purposes.
Do not press on the display too strongly, not only will this lead to scratch marks but
it will also destroy the display, loss of warranty!
For cleaning the device or the display and the measuring lines, use a clean, soft, antistatic
cleaning cloth.
Dust can easily be removed using a clean, soft brush and a vacuum cleaner.
DISPOSAL
Electronic devices are recyclable waste materials and must not be disposed of in
the household waste! Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the
relevant statutory regulations.
Ꮨ
• The product is only suited for dry indoor locations (not bathrooms or similar damp
interiors). Avoid penetration of wetness or dampness into the device. There is a
risk of a fatal electric shock!
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer’s
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Materials are
to be observed.
• Periodically check the technical safety of the instrument and measuring cables,
e.g. check for damage to the housing or squeezing etc.
Never operate the device when it is open, danger to life!
• Do not exceed the maximum permitted input values. Never touch circuits or parts
of circuits with voltages greater than 25 V/AC rms or 35 V/DC! Danger to life!
• Handle the product with care. It will be damaged through impact, blows, or by
being dropped even from a low height.
• Also observe the detailed (in English language) operating manual on the CD
included in the delivery.

SETTING UP THE OSCILLOSCOPE
Set up the device, using the foldout feet on the underside of the unit, so it can be operated
and read comfortably.
Avoid direct sunlight over a longer period since this could damage the screen.
In order to comply with the tolerances in the technical data, the oscilloscope must have
been in operation within the range of operating temperature for at lest 20 minutes.
INSTALLATION OF THE SUPPLIED SOFTWARE
• Place the enclosed CD into an appropriate drive on your computer.
• Start the
fi
le manager of Windows and open the directory of the CD. Start the installation
program and follow all of the instructions of the software or Windows.
• Connect the USB port of the oscilloscope on the back of the device to a free USB port of
the computer. Windows recognises the new hardware and completes the installation.
Note on driver installation under Windows 7:
Once the installation of the programme “Setup.exe” is completed, connect the USB cable to a
free USB port on your computer.
If this message “The device driver software was not installed” appears, the driver must be
installed separately once more as it has not been recognised by the Windows system.
For this purpose, proceed as follows:
• Click on “Start” -> “Control Panel” -> “Device Manager”.
Under “Device Manager” there is an exclamation mark highlighted in yellow for: “Other
devices” with the text “Unknown Device”.
• Double click on “Unknown Device”.
• Now install the driver for this device by clicking on the button “Update Drivers”.
• Select “=> Search for driver software on the computer” in the subsequently opening win-
dow.
• Enter the path of your CD/DVD drive (for example: “D:\”) and tick the “Include Subfolders”
box. Then click on “Continue”.
• If a “Windows security” window with the text “The publisher of the driver software could not
be veri
fi
ed” is shown, con
fi
rm the installation by clicking on “=> Install this driver software
anyway.”
• The driver should now be recognised correctly and you can start using the software for the
digital oscilloscope.

Note for Windows XP/Vista:
For the driver installation select the path of your CD/DVD drive and install the driver from the
subdirectory “Driver” on the CD provided.
