Kickback occurs if the upper edge or tip of the guide bar strikes wood or other hard objects. The device is
thrown with high energy back and forth, which can cause extremely severe injuries.
Risk of kickback
DANGER! Risk of injury!
When working with this device, dangerous kickback may occur. Seve even fatal
injuries can result. Before beginning work with this device, the chain brake must be checked to ensure that it is
functioning correctly.
● Avoid letting the tip of the guide bar touch wood or other hard objects(depicted below).
● In order to reduce the risk of injury in case of kickback, the device is equipped with a chain brake which is
triggered automatically on impact and will stop the saw chain immediately.
● For safety reasons, the functionality of the chain brake must be checked each time before the device is used
(See Checking the Chain Brake).
● With less strong kickback, the chain brake may not be triggered automatically. For this reason, it Is important
that the device be held firmly with both hands.
● Only careful and correct working methods can reliably reduce the risk of kickback.
