Insert the cartridge filter back into the cartridge
filter plate by turning it counter-clockwise.
Insert the cartridge filter back into the dust
container cover and turn it clockwise.
Insert the dust container cover back into the dust
container and turn it clockwise.
Put the dust container back into the cleaner.

Cleaning the exhaust filter
Open the filter grill to remove the exhaust filter.
Take the filter out of the grill and insert a new one.
Close the filter grill.

WARNING: On collection of proprietary carpet
conditioning powders, plaster/concrete dust, it is
recommended that the dust container is emptied and
the cartridge filter is cleaned after every use. Some
of the preparations contain substances which while
left in the vacuum cleaner for extended periods could
create damage.
Many air fresheners, household deodorants, sprays and
polishes contain highly inflammable gas propellants.
Because of this it is particularly important that these
products are used strictly in accordance with the
relevant manufacturers instructions. It is essential that
none of the above products are sprayed directly into
the vacuum cleaner or any of the

The vacuum cleaner does not start.
1. Check whether the dust container is full, if so
empty and clean the cartridge filter if showing
build up of dust residue, also inspect the exhaust
filter, If severely discoloured it is to be replaced.
2. Check that the plug and the cable are not
damaged.
3. Check for a blown fuse.
The vacuum cleaner stops when in use.

3. Are the filters blocked?
Blockages and dirty filters can result in the cleaner
switching off in operation, due to restriction of air
flow causing the activation of the thermal overload.
If this does occur switch off the cleaner at the mains
and remove the plug. Allow the cleaner to cool for
20 - 30 minutes. In this time check the hose, tubes
and nozzle for blockages.
(a) To check for a hose blockage pass a small coin
through it, on finding the blockage remove it by
pressing the hose to dislodge and loosen the
obstruction. How ever be careful in the case it has
been caused by glass or needles caught inside the
hose at the point of the blockage.
(b) By passing a flexible tube through the hose from
the handle end the blockage can also be removed.
If the obstruction can not be removed please
consult the Blue Ribbon Service Providers listing
supplied with the cleaner for your closest Volta
Authorised service provider. The clearing of a
blocked hose is not covered by warranty.
Water has entered the vacuum cleaner.
It will be necessary to replace the motor by an
authorised Volta service agent. Damage to the
motor caused by the penetration of water is not
covered by the warranty.
