Electrical System

Emergency Starting

If the single battery in a one-battery
system is discharged, or if both batteries in
a two-battery system are discharged, the
engine can be started using an external
voltage source.

The voltage source positive lead must only
be connected at the vehicle jump-start
terminal in the engine compartment. This
jump-start terminal is connected directly to
starter side terminal 30a and supplies

SSP270/230

voltage only to the electrical components
relevant to the starting procedure. This
method of connection protects other
components in the on-board power supply
system from damage.
