Control of variable guide vanes
The pressure cell is connected via a hose line to
the intake pipe. The pressure in the pressure cell
changes depending on the intake manifold
pressure.
Exhaust gas turbocharing
At
low intake manifold pressure,
the diaphragm
of the pressure cell is pushed back by the force of
the spring. The guide vanes are set to a small
inlet cross section.
This control always makes available the boost
pressure necessary for ensuring optimum power
output.
At
high intake manifold pressure,
the pressure
acting on the diaphragm in the pressure cell
increases.
The guide vanes are set to a large inlet cross
section.
