Provide ample space to check the oil level, as well as access to the
filters and compressor oil drain to facilitate servicing.
Mounting the WHASP Tank
The WHASP Tank uses a “puller” fan to cool the air/oil mixture. Position the WHASP
Tank to ensure there is adequate air flow and so that the fan is blowing out
toward the cargo door. During operation, the door should be kept open to ensure
there is a constant supply of cool air to prevent the system from overheating

Provide a

of clearance for
air flow
A minimum of 6 in of clearance is recommended around the radiator
(intake) side of the WHASP Tank to allow fresh, cool air to circulate
into the cooler and fan (Figure 21).
