1.  Strip the red and black

receiver wires approximately
½” to expose the bare wire.
Ensure there are no frayed
wires by twisting any frayed
ends together.

2.  Pull the red tab down on

the back of the speaker and
insert the red (positive) wire
into the hole. Release the tab
to secure the connection.
Repeat this step for the black
(negative wire) and black tab
on the speaker.

No Sound

No Sound from One Speaker

•  Check the speaker wires and ensure they have a solid connection

to all the speaker terminals on each speaker and on the amplifi er
or receiver.

•  Check that the receiver or amplifi er is powered “on” at the mains,

is not on “mute”, has no headphones attached and that the
channels used for the speakers (usually A or B) is in operation.

•  Refer to the owner’s guide that came with your receiver or

amplifi er for troubleshooting guidelines for the unit.

•  Most initial problems are connectivity, please try a different

connection cable to your in-ceiling speakers or equipment.

•  Check the “balance” control on your receiver amplifi er.
•  Check all connections and cable to the inoperable speaker.
•  Disconnect the “working” speaker from the receiver amplifi er

connection/channel. Switch the cord from the non-operating
speaker from its current connection to the “working” speaker
connection. If the speaker now works, the problem is your
receiver amplifi er.

•  Reconnect as original. Remove the speaker cable at the “working”

speaker directly and connect it directly to the non-working
speaker. If the speaker now works, the problem is somewhere in
the original speaker cable.

•  If the speaker still does not work the problem is the speaker.
