Or use the paddle to highlight “Search devices”. Press the “i” button to start the search at which time the
display will show: “Searching…………”
7. After a few seconds the display will show available devices. Use the paddle to highlight the desired
device and press the “i” button to select it. If successful the screen will display “paired” for two seconds.
8. The locator will automatically revert to the locate screen and the Bluetooth icon will now be solid, i.e. not
flashing.
9. Unless changed in the menu, the vScan will automatically pair with the external device at subsequent
start-ups.
TIP
When not using the Bluetooth function, switch it off by entering the user menu
and selecting “Bluetooth OFF”. This will save battery life and prevent
interference from the Bluetooth search activity.
When the Bluetooth search function is deactivated, a cross will appear next to
the Bluetooth icon in the locate screen.
The vScan will exchange data with the external device every time creates a logged data point. The times at
which data points are created are set in MyvScan.
If data logging to an external device, it will be necessary to configure the external data logger to accept the
format of the data steam. For more details on the vScan data stream visit www.vivax-metrotech.com.
4.12 MyvScan
MyvScan is a powerful software package which supports features available in the vScan receiver product
range including vScan and vScanM.
MyvScan can be downloaded from the website:

4.12.1 Using MyvScan
If not already done, download and install MyvScan from the Vivax-Metrotech.com web site.
Launch MyvScan by double clicking on the MyvScan icon.
To start using MyvScan, you must make a connection to a locator. Open the battery compartment door to
reveal the mini USB socket. Connect a suitable lead with a standard USB connector on the other end.
Connect to a standard USB port on your computer.
