IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed
including the following:
1. Stand the kettle on a safe, level and flat surface.
2. Ensure that the voltage on the rating plate of your appliance which is AC 230V~ 50Hz
corresponds with your house electrical supply. And the outlet should be a 3[wire grounded
safety outlet.
3. Do not touch hot surface. Use handles or knobs.
4. To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not immerse cord, plugs or
kettle in water or other liquid.
5. Keep out of reach of children or invalids while in use or whilst hot. Your children should
be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
6. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on
or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance.
7. Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance mal[
functions or has been damaged in any manner. If the mains lead is damaged on cordless
models, only the base should be returned to the manufacturer for repairing.
8. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer
may result in fire, electric shock or personal injury.
9. Do not use this appliance for other than intended use. This appliance is for domestic use
only.
10. Do not let cord hang over edge of table counter or touch hot surfaces.
11. Disconnect the kettle from the mains supply when filling or pouring.
12. Boil only as much water, as you need as this saves electricity.
13. Always close the lid securely before switching on [ otherwise the kettle will not switch
off automatically and it may spit out boiling water. For kettles with locking lids ensure lid is
locked correctly.
14. Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
15. Always take care to pour boiling water slowly and carefully without tipping the kettle too
fast.
16. Always put in enough water to cover the element; on the kettle with a water level gauge,
this is indicated by the MAX mark. Do not fill above the MAX mark on the water level gauge
or inside of the kettle body.
17. Avoid contact with steam from the spout when the water is boiling or just after it has
switched off. Take care if opening the lid for re[filling when the kettle is hot.
18. Do not immerse the kettle or base unit in water. If the kettle is overfilled, the boiling
water may be ejected. Do not tip kettle backwards as boiling water may be ejected.
19. Do not attempt to connect any other appliance to the cordless base unit, or tamper
with the connector in any way.
20. Do not use abrasive cleaners on the outside of the kettle [ these may scratch the sur[
face.
21. Extreme caution must be taken when moving an appliance containing hot water.
22. Do not place the base unit onto a metal tray or metal surface while in use.
