NORMAL USE

The VR-2 model lever hoist is used to handle

loads and rig them into position The load

should not be larger than the designated

working load/capacity of the hoist The chain

can be pulled out when the hoist is in neutral

and there is no load on the hook

NORMAL POSITION

Check to see that the brake pawl is on the

outside of the lock plate before setting the hoist

in the neutral position, and hold it in place

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Before use

•

Inspect the hoist for visible damages Lubricate the chain

lightly with grease Check that the chain links move freely

and have no kinks or twists

•

Hang the hoist so the chain is aligned in a straight line in

relation to the load

Lifting loads

•

Check to see that the brake pawl is on the outside of the

lock plate before setting the hoist in the neutral position, and

hold it in place

•

Set the selector in the Up (U) position Make certain the

chain is tightened and there is no slack Grab the lever and

raise the load by jacking it up (clockwise) Make certain the

handle and **lock** are engaged (You will hear the sound of

a loud click) Before lifting, check to see whether the chain is

twisted or not This could damage the chain, chain guide or

chain wheel

Lowering loads

•

To lower the load, set the selector in the down (D) position

Jack the handle counterclockwise until the load reaches the

desired position Be aware that a chain that is not under load

will not engage

Disengaging (adjusting a chain without load)

•

Press the pawl all the way down

•

Pull the hand ratchet outward until the lock plate is outside

the brake pawl

•

Release the pawl and it

will slide down between

the side plate and the lock

plate The chain can now

be pulled freely in both

directions

Re-engage

•

Press the pawl all the way down

•

Press the handle in, against the side plate

•

The pawl will now slide down on the outside of the lock plate

•

Rotate the handle a little in a clockwise direction and press

in, so the pawl slides automatically out of the lock plate
