Each button setting can be changed to optimize the scanner for the type
of scanning you want to do.
To change a button’s settings:
1. Press and hold down the button that you want to change (except the
Stop/Cancel button). The scanner beeps several times.
The Preferences dialog box appears. The tabs on the dialog box
correspond to the buttons (except Properties).
The selections on the dialog box show the current settings for the
button. For example, the following figure shows a sample of current
settings for the Custom button because the Custom tab is selected.
In this sample, the Custom button is set up to scan the item with
the configuration named Editing Text (OCR) Accurate, and then
after the scanning is finished, to open Microsoft WordPad to
display the converted text of the scanned image.
