General usage suggestions and notes on lighting
When using the StandBright 2, it’s best to position the LED head below eye
level, between you and the document you’re magnifying or the task at hand.
As the StandBright 2 can be extremely bright on its highest settings, this is
important to prevent glare.
It’s useful to know that the amount of illumination on an object increases
fourfold as the distance between the light and the object halves. Therefore,
keeping some background lighting on may help to reduce eye strain.
Adjusting the colour temperature of the light can also help with this as
some users and eye conditions find warmer or cooler temperatures of light
more comfortable for their eyes.
Getting Started
Setting up your StandBright 2
1. Take the remote control (on the left hand side) out of the box and
remove its shipping tab to connect the 2 pre-installed AAA batteries.
Please note, some distributors / resellers may test the StandBright 2 as
part of their own pre-shipping QA process so the pull tab may have been
removed.
2. Remove the interchangeable power adapter (in a box on the right)
3.
The StandBright 2’s head is bent around on its goose-neck arm and
is connected to two other pole sections with its power cable running
internally through them. Remove this from the box, straighten the
goose-neck arm out and carefully slide its protective plastic cover off.
