6.3. HOW TO MEASURE TEMPERATURE
Insert the batteries. For the first use or when inserting new batteries, wait
about 10 minutes to preheat the device.
6.3.1. FOR A FOREHEAD MEASUREMENT

1. Before measuring, dry your forehead and fix the
forehead temperature cap on the device.
2. Press the measurement button once and make
sure the logo
of the front temperature sensor is
displayed on the screen.
3. Point the infrared sensor towards the forehead (picture A), it should
touch the skin slightly. Make sure to stay still during the measurement.
4. Press the measuring button to start for one second. The unit will beep
once. it indicates the measurement is completed, and the LCD screen
will display the measured temperature value (refer to the diagnostic
table for measurement below).
5. The result is automatically saved. In the case of consecutive
measurements of temperature, the results may not be identical. Wait
at least 1 minute between each measurement.
6. If the temperature exceeds the warning temperature value, a beep
sounds four times.
7. Holding the device in the hand, during a long time, will make the
detector read an ambiant temperature higher than the real one. That
may lead to an inaccurate measurement.
6.3.2. FOR A TYMPANIC TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT

1. Press the measurement button once and make
sure the logo of the tympanic outlet is
displayed on the screen.
2. Take off the forehead temperature cap and insert
the tympanic probe along the ear canal (picture B).
3. Press the measuring button to start for one second. The unit will beep
once. it indicates the measurement is completed, and the LCD screen
will display the measured temperature value (refer to the diagnostic
table for measurement below).
