Preventive installation protection
To delay the sludge and algae reforming in the
installation, we recommend adding Virax
PROTECTOR ref. 295027 to the installation after
carrying out the sludge removal operations (and
sanitation for the heated floors).
To do so, add the PROTECTOR according to the dose
marked on the tub into the installation, either via the
sludge remover or directly from a radiator.

Descaling a heating element
To descale a heating element or a heat exchange, Virax offers the DESCALING FLUID ref. 295010 and
the NEUTRALISING AGENT ref. 295015.
a.
Isolate the installation and drop the pressure.
b.
Prepare the DESCALING FLUID according to the indications on the label. The liquid level must be
between the minimum and maximum values ("MIN" and "MAX").
Individual protection must be worn.
c.
Disconnect the inlet pipe and the outlet pipe
from the heat exchanger.
d.
Connect the pump pipes to the exchanger
e.
Open the pump cap.
f.
Place the three channel valves as indicated in
the figure opposite.
g.
Close the "clean water inlet" tap and switch on
the pump. Pressing position I or II on it will
start up the flow reversal to accelerate the
descaling and make it more effective.
h.
The descaling is complete when no more
bubbles are released and the
solution is still acidic.
N.B.: the change in colour from PINK to
COLOURLESS indicates that the acid solution is exhausted
.
ONCE THE DESCALING IS COMPLETE DO NOT LEAVE THE TREATMENT PRODUCT IN
THE TANK!
i.
Drain the pump at the end of the operation, switch the pump off, slightly unscrew the inlet and outlet
connectors and wait until the liquid inside the circuit leaves the pump tank.
j.
Completely unscrew the inlet and outlet connectors (one at a time), raise the tubes to facilitate the
drainage of the liquid inside and close fully with the caps provided.
While detaching the flexible pipes watch out for any drops of acid that may damage the floor or
any other surface.
k.
In a well-aired location, drain the product remaining inside the pump into a special container for discharge
or into the drain if the product is neutral (using the Virax NEUTRALISING AGENT).
l.
Once the descaling is complete and the pump is drained of the exhausted acid, wash the assembly with
Virax NEUTRALISING AGENT to remove any acid residue.
m.
Connect the sanitary water inlet and outlet pipes, open a tap downstream of the coil or the heat
exchanger and remove 20-30 litres of water to finish rinsing the installation
