STaRTING aND STOPPING ENGINE
NOTE: Operating engine on a steep angle will cause the
engine to lose lubrication and seize.
Review “Warnings and Safety Precautions” and “Pre-Operation
Inspection” sections before starting engine.

1. Move engine to a well-ventilated area, always outdoors, to
prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
2. Move to an area away from flames or sparks, to avoid ignition
of vapors if present.
3. Remove all debris from air cleaner holes and fuel cap to
ensure proper air flow.
4. Move throttle 1/2 of the way toward the highest speed
position.
5. Close the choke lever:
• If the engine is cold or the ambient temperature is low, close
the choke lever fully.

• If the engine is warm or the ambient temperature is
high, open the choke lever half-way or keep it fully open.
