To install the platform
22.1 Position the platform on the head and secure with four screws (3)

To pre-load the balance spring
:
23.1 Tighten screw (30) until it bottoms.
23.2 Install self-adhesive mechanism housing label (35).

Install the pan and tilt brake knobs (
(See “Brake knob adjustment” on page 23)
).

The pan and tilt drag control knobs are set so that drag begins to be felt in the arrow area on the
indicator. If new drag shoes are installed, they should be bedded-in by applying maximum drag and leaving
overnight.

To adjust the pan drag knob settings
26.1 Release the pan brakes.
26.2 Turn the drag control knob (2) until the grub screw (3) is accessible. Slacken the grub screw by
six turns.
26.3 Turn the indicator (1) to minimum.
26.4 Hold the indicator (1) stationary and rotate the control knob to the right until drag begins to be
felt.
26.5 Turn the indicator to the arrow mark.
26.6 Turn the drag control knob (2) and indicator (1) together until the grub screw (3) is accessible.
Carefully tighten the grubscrew, adjusting the position of the control knob as necessary so that the grub
screw seats correctly in a slot in the indicator and may be screwed fully home.
26.7 Decrease drag to minimum.
26.8 Increase drag and ensure that drag begins to be felt in the arrow area on the indicator and that 9
on the indicator can be reached. Repeat the above procedure until this can be achieved.

Adjust the tilt drag knob in a similar fashion, referring to

Install the battery and check the electrical system as follows:
28.1 Referring to
, push the battery (2) into the battery housing (3), ensuring that correct
polarity is observed.
28.2 Fit the battery cover (1).
28.3 Press the switch (9) and ensure that the level bubble is illuminated for approximately 15 seconds.
