INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING
THE MARK

UNITS.
Important.
Provided that the negative b attery lead i s snit ab ly
insulat ed, and the wiring i s i n goo d condition, no damage
to the R ecti fier wi ll occur
if
the engi ne i s u sed without the b att ery.
It should, however, b e c learly u nderstoo d, that the switch should
" not" ,b e put to the
" PARKING "
position whi lst the engine
is
ru nning.
NOTE: Thi s do es not apply to the Hi gh Output typ e o f Magneto
and circuit employed on c ert ain light c ars, etc., wher e it
is
essential
to di sconnect the R ectifi er from the gener ator in the event of the
engine b eing run without the b attery.

We recommend Castrol Two-stroke Self-Mixing Oil at a ratio of
!-pint to one gallon of petrol (1-16), OR Castrol Oil (SAE.30)
ratio 1-20.

Due to the Self-Mixing properties of Castrol Two-Stroke Self
Mixing Oil, !-pint to one gallon of petrol represents a ratio of 1-20
actual lubricant to petrol, and
no pr e-mixing i s nec essary, but it i s
essential to turn off t he Petrol Tap and put t he Oil i nto the Tank
b efor e the petrol.
Gearbox.
Remove the oil level dipstick, situated alongside the
oil
filler
plug
on top of gearbox and check oil level.
The

is indicated
by
the groove about i in. from end
of dip

If level is found to be below end of dipstick remove
filler plug, top up with
Castrol
"D"
oil (S.A.E. 140). Examine
every 1,000 miles
appr

and drain every 5,000 miles

removing plug in
bottom of box.
