SC Feature:
For ProPress ½” to 2” dimensions the Smart Connect
(SC) feature is a special indentation in the inside surface
of the fitting near the sealing element. This indentation
assures leakage of liquids and/or gases from inside the
system past the sealing element. The indentation is
removed during the pressing process creating a leak free
permanent connection. The function of the feature is to
provide identification of connections which have not been
pressed prior to putting the system into operation.
The function of the SC feature is carried out by pressurizing the tubing system.
The SC feature must be tested within a pressure range of a minimum of 15
PSI and a
maximum pressure of 85 PSI
.
The SC feature test is not a substitute for local code required pressure testing
of the tubing system. The final tubing system pressure test is to be carried out
in accordance with local codes.
