Starting the engine when cold
Fill the tank with the required amount of oil/petrol mix. See Fuel and oil (page 7).

Set the machine down on a hard, level surface.

Set the choke lever. (

Press the fuel pump (primer)

Ensure the 'STOP SWITCH' is set to the 'ON' position.
(5)
Hold the unit firmly by the handle, pull out the starter until you feel it start to resist.
Ensuring that the direction is straight out of the eyelet
(not chaffing on the edge)
, tug
sharply on the starter cord until it starts.
Please note: As cord is pulled, compression of engine will cause some resistance.

Once the engine has started, move the choke lever immediately to (
) and allow the
machine to warm up for approx. 10 seconds.
Never allow the starter cord to snap back. This may damage the
machine.

If the engine does not start up, repeat steps 5-6 above.
