Installing & Adjusting Camera 

Select a location that is clear of obstacles and can support the weight of the unit.  Exercise maximum caution 
when installing the unit to the wall or ceiling the unit falling can result in injuries and accidents. It is recommended 
to install the camera 2-4 meters from the floor. As a failsafe against falling, attach the unit by chain, wire cable 
or other safety restraint to an appropriate anchor point. 
 
The infrared laser will turn on in the low light conditions and 5 tiny red dots will be visible. Do not look directly 
at the lens of the camera as it may impair eyesight. 
 
Step 1: Prepare the mounting holes 
 
To provide for cable management, the camera can be mounted to a back box, model V940B-BOX. 
 
Note: Make sure there is room for a cable routing hole at the location and drill a hole to route the cables. 
Cabling should be routed to the installation location.   
 
The V940B-BOX consists of two pieces (bottom and cover) and is supplied with a mounting template and 
hardware necessary to mount it. Using the mounting template, prepare the three mounting holes. Secure the 
bottom of the box to the surface using the screws and anchors supplied or hardware appropriate for the 
mounting surface. There are three cable access holes provided, one on the side and two on the rear. Route the

Step 2: Install the camera 
Route the cables from the camera through the cable access hole in the cover. Insert the slit in the white foam 
plug onto the cable assembly from the camera and insert the plug into the cable access hole in the cover. 
Route the camera cable assembly through the metal cable plate provided and secure this entire assembly onto 
the back box cover with screws provided.   
 
Secure the camera to the back box cover in the circle inset using the screws and washers provided in the 
accessory kit. Align the standoffs in the bottom with the holes in the cover and secure the cover/camera 
assembly to the bottom of the back box.
