Operation
X939 Rev 1298 Remote Keyboard
VCR Controls
The right side of the keyboard is designed for VCR control (see Figure 10). You must refer to the
documentation for your VCR for details on operating the VCR and then use the same keystrokes from the
keyboard.
At the time of this printing, the remote keyboard can control all operations on all types of Mitsubishi VCRs. The
following limitations apply for JVC and Sanyo VCRs:
•
JVC - Operations which would be performed with the Rec/Play mode minus key and
Frame Shift minus keys are not supported.
•
Sanyo - Frame Shift controls are not supported. Use Rew/FF in Pause mode.
AurorA99 Digital Multiplexer Selection
In a standalone system, there will only be one multiplexer. The multiplexer does not need to be selected
before it can be operated in standalone mode.
You may connect up to 8 multiplexers in a multi-unit system. Any keyboard may be used to select any
multiplexer. Regardless of the number of multiplexers in the system, multiplexers are always selected by
pressing and releasing the Select key and then pressing the camera number key corresponding to the
multiplexer you wish to select (keys 1 to 8 only).
Note: The address of the multiplexer defines the camera number that you must use to select that multiplexer.
For example, if you set the appropriate DIP switch poles 1-5 to ON, OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, you must
use keyboard camera number key 2 to select that multiplexer. Refer to
Configuring the Multi-Output
Interface Units
in the
Installation
chapter to troubleshoot multiplexer selection problems.
Notes about AurorA99’s Receiver Mode
As with all AurorA99 operations, you must refer to the of
AurorA99 Digital Multiplexer Instruction Manual X873
for operational procedures. However, there are a few differences when using the V800KBD in receiver mode.
Note that the V800KBD includes two PTZ keys which will be placed in the ON or OFF position to enter/exit
receiver mode. You will also press the PTZ ON key to switch between mechanical (PTZ) and electronic
(EPTZ) pan, tilt and zoom functions (press PTZ ON to enable EPTZ, press ON again for mechancal PTZ).
Note: You can only change autopan speed from the AurorA99 front panel (not from the V800KBD).
VCR Selection
You may only use one VCR in a standalone system or up to 8 VCRs in a multi-unit system. In a standalone
system, there is no need to select the VCR before it can be controlled. In a multi-unit system, press and
release the Select key and then press the appropriate camera number key (9 - 16) to select the VCR.
Note: The address of the VCR defines the camera number that you must use to select that VCR. For example,
if you set the appropriate DIP switch poles 1-5 to OFF, OFF, OFF, OFF, ON, you must use keyboard
camera number key 9 to select that VCR. Refer to
Configuring the Multi-Output Interface Units
in the
Installation
chapter to troubleshoot VCR selection problems.
