Fully Charge Pocket Jump Before First Use
Batteries naturally discharge when not in use, so it is highly recommended to fully charge the device before
first use. Check the capacity by pressing the capacity indicator button. If all 4 capacity indicator LEDs light
up, then your Pocket Jump is ready to jump your vehicle. If not all capacity indicator LEDs light up, follow the
instructions under the "Charging the Pocket Jump" section until the Pocket Jump is at full capacity. When not
used regularly, we recommend a routine charge to full capacity once every 30-45 days.
Jumping Your Vehicle
NOTE: Before use, make sure all of your vehicle's electrical accessories are turned off. The Pocket Jump must
be fully charged to jump your vehicle. If your vehicle has not been started for an extended period of time and
the battery is dead, it is likely that the battery is fully discharged and will not be able to be charged using
Pocket Jump.
Step 1: Test the Battery. Insert the cigarette lighter connector end of the cigarette lighter
adapter into the cigarette lighter socket of your vehicle. Turn the key in the ignition to the
accessory position, usually one-quarter turn of the key (for a vehicle with push-button
start, push the start button without engaging the brake). The voltage indicator LED's color
indicates the voltage of your vehicle's battery, which determines whether it can be jumped
by the Pocket Jump. Use the chart below to determine whether your vehicle can be jumped.
Step 2: Charging the Vehicle. Plug the DC connector end of the cigarette lighter adapter
into the Pocket Jump's DC/car port and press the capacity indicator button on the Pocket
Jump. The voltage indicator LED on the adapter will start blinking and the Pocket Jump will
begin charging your car. Wait 20 minutes. After 20 minutes have passed, disconnect the
Pocket Jump from the vehicle. Disconnect the adapter from the DC/car port and Pocket
Jump will shut off automatically. To stop charging without disconnecting the Pocket Jump,
press the capacity indicator button twice.
Step 3: Start the Vehicle. Start your vehicle without pumping the gas. Pumping the gas
could cause engine flooding and prevent the vehicle from starting.
Charging the Pocket Jump
Charge your Pocket Jump via USB power source with the included USB cord. Connect
the micro USB end to the Pocket Jump's micro USB port. Then, plug the cord into a
USB power source, such as a USB power port on a computer or a USB wall adapter (not
included; many devices such as smart phones and tablets come with USB wall adapters).
The charge indicator LEDs will start blinking and display the battery level. A full charge
takes approximately 4-6 hours. Once the Pocket Jump is fully charged, the charge
indicator LEDs will stop blinking and display a full battery level (all 4 LEDs will light up).
Disconnect the Pocket Jump and it will automatically shut off. DO NOT charge the Pocket
Jump for more than 6 hours. It is not recommended to use the Pocket Jump to charge
electronic devices while the Pocket Jump unit itself is being charged.
IF YOU HAVE RECENTLY USED THE POCKET JUMP TO JUMP START YOUR VEHICLE: Wait until your vehicle is
operating and running smoothly before charging the Pocket Jump via USB adapter in your vehicle. Do not leave
the Pocket Jump plugged in to be charged by your vehicle while the vehicle is not running, as this may drain
your vehicle's battery.
Press the capacity indicator button at any time to check the battery level. If the charge is
at full capacity, all 4 capacity indicator LEDs will light up. If they do not, the Pocket Jump
is not fully charged and must be charged before being used to jump start a vehicle. It
does not need to be at full capacity to charge a portable electronic device. Pocket Jump
will automatically turn on when it detects a connection to the USB port or to the cigarette
lighter adapter and will automatically shut off once disconnected from either.
