Checking the specific gravity
Determine the specific gravity of each sep-
arate cell using a commercial hydrometer.
This specific gravity gives an indication
of the state of charge (see Table). The
specific gravity in all cells should be at
least 1.200 kg/l, while the difference
between the highest and lowest readings
should be less than 0.050 kg/l. If this is not
the case, then charge the battery, or
replace it.
During this check, the temperature of the
battery liquid should preferably be
20 degrees C.

Every 25 operating hours or monthly.
Maintenance
Gasses released from the batteries are explosive!
Keep naked flames and sparks well away!
Battery acid is a corrosive liquid. Ensure that it cannot come into contact
with skin or clothing!
Wear safety glasses!
Never place tools on the battery!
