VERTICAL THROUGH-THE-ROOF
INSTALLATION
NOTE:
For all top vent vertical through-the-roof instal-
lations, install the supplied fl ue restrictors onto the top
edge of the fi rebox fl ue adapter according to the Verti-
cal Through-the-Roof Installation Flue Restrictor Chart on
Page 24.
1. Locate your fi replace.
2. Plumb to center of the (4") fl ue collar from ceiling
above and mark position.
3. Cut opening equal to 9

" (248 x 248 mm).
4. Proceed to plumb for additional openings through the
roof. In all cases, the opening must provide a minimum
of 1 inch clearance to the vent pipe, i.e., the hole must
be at least 9

5. Place fi replace into position.
6. Place fi restop(s) or Attic Insulation Shield into position
and secure.

7. Install roof support
(Figure 48)
and roof fl ashing mak-
ing sure upper fl ange is below the shingles.

8. Install appropriate pipe sections until the venting is
above the fl ashing.

9. Install storm collar and seal around the pipe.
10. Add additional vent lengths for proper height.

11. Apply high temperature sealant to 4" and 7" collars of
vertical vent termination and install.
