Before you continue with the installation process, review the features of the e231:
Figure 2 e231 Front Panel
The front panel shows the following feature:
•
A Removable Module that contains a Micro-USB plug and serves a
locking attachment for the tablet to e231. The micro-USB plug is the
primary communication and power charging path between the Dell Venue
8 Pro tablet and the e231.
Figure 3 e231 Back Panel
The back of the e231 shows the following:

Two wrist straps to help carry the e231.
•
A 2D Imager for scanning barcodes.
