The remote control operates on 8 AA batteries (not included): remove the battery
compartment cover at the rear of the R/C, install the 8 AA batteries (mind the
polarity!) and close the battery compartment cover (see figure to the right).
Do not mix different types (NiMH, alkaline) of batteries and different capacities.
5. Operation
a. Preparation
•
Make sure the power switches of both the tank (fig.2) and the remote control (fig.3 #1) are set to “OFF”.
•
Insert the battery pack into the tank and 8 AA batteries into the remote control. Close the battery compartments.
•
Set the channel selectors of the tank (fig.2) and the remote control (fig.3 #16) to the same channel. This feature
allows for 3
TRC7
tanks to be used simultaneously (each one on a different channel).
•
! First switch on the remote control (fig.3 #1), then the tank (fig.2)!
This is crucial to avoid erroneous operation.
•
If the remote control is too close to the tank or its antenna touches other objects, the tank may not be properly
controlled. If the tank is within one meter of the remote control, try shortening the remote control antenna. Indoors
use may shorten the range of the radio signals.
•
If the tank headlights flash slowly, the battery pack is getting weak and needs to be recharged. If they flash rapidly,
the tank is in programming mode (see §5. Demos). They are lit continuously when the tank is moving forward.
b. Navigation
•
Navigate the tank with the right remote control joystick.
•
Avoid uneven and highly resistant surfaces.
•
If a caterpillar gets loose looks damaged, reassemble it correctly before driving the tank.
•
If something gets tangled in the caterpillar, remove it immediately.
•
Do not run the cannon barrel into an object: it may get bent and unable to shoot.
