INSTALLATION
l
Install the transformer in a dry place, for example, in the garage, a barn, or under a shed.
Fasten the transformer with the screws provided.
l
Press the metal pin in the ground in close proximity of the transformer. Make sure that the pin is
not more than 2 cm visible above the ground.
l
Fasten the green grounded wire to the green knob of the transformer and the eye of the wire to
the eye of the pin, with the help of the bolt and washers provided. If necessary, the length of the
wire can be shortened. (A)
l
With the help of the synthetic stakes provided the pond fence can be placed. Place the stakes a
maximum of 4 metres from each other with the uppermost eye pointing towards the pond. Push
the stakes in the ground, so that the lowest eye of the stake sticks out of the ground by 10 cm.
Thread the black electric wire through the eyes of the stakes. Begin with the lowest eyes. Make
a knot at the end and thread the same wire through the upper eyes. Make a knot at the end here
also. In this way, a connection is made between the lowest and highest wire. Stretch the wires
so that the stakes do not move and there is no contact with the grass or other plants. The lowest
wire keeps cats away from the pond; the highest wire keeps herons away. (B)
l
Connect the red pulse wire to the red knob of the transformer and the other end of this wire to
the lowest enclosure wire with the help of a connector provided. (C)
l
By plugging the transformer into the socket, the installation is complete. When the LED lamp
on the transformer is illuminated, the Pond Protector is working. You can test the installation by
feeling the electric pulses with a blade of grass, for example. These electric pulses can also be
seen on the LED lamp on top of the transformer. The LED lamp blinks with every pulse.
Draw peoples attention, especially children, to the installed Pond Protector. When working in
or around the pond, it is advisable to unplug the device.
