All eight batteries should be replaced at the same time. Make certain you follow

the proper polarity during battery installation.

The VEGA device stores the configuration data for the RD. When replacing the

batteries, configuration settings are still in this memory. To replace batteries

(power supply and display boards), complete the following steps:

Turn the Source Selector Switch to

OFF

If the RD is mounted in a hazardous location, take it to a non-hazardous

location.

Open the RD.

Remove the two battery trays.

Remove the old batteries from the battery trays.

Install the new batteries in both trays, paying close attention to battery

polarity.

Install the battery trays back into the back plate.

Close the door and hatch.

Remount the unit.

Push the

Level

button.

11.

Check the display for proper operation.

• Never replace batteries in a Class 1, Div 2 area (or any

hazardous area).

• Make certain you place the Source Selector Switch to the

“OFF” position when changing the batteries.

• Dispose of the lithium batteries using approved local

methods.
