Note: If no Error Type has been previously selected, then
the Select Error Type menu will appear the first time the Error
Insert button is selected.
5. View various result statistics by selecting the Results function.
To insert an Alarm:
1. Select the Packet tab.
2. Configure the Mode and desired Packet Stream .
3. Enable traffic generation from the packet stream to be errored.
4. If you want to clear any previously collected data, select Restart from the
common function button at the bottom of the screen before inserting the error.
5. Select Error / Alarm from the tabs along the left side of the Config Screen.
6. Select Alarm Generated and choose an alarm type from the Select Alarm dialog
box.
Important: Once an alarm is selected, then alarm will
continuously insert until turned off.
7. View various result statistics by selecting the Results function.
8. To stop the alarm generation select Alarm Generated and choose None .
Viewing Error and Alarm Results
(Specifically for LAN/WAN Ethernet testing)
After inserting error and alarms into a packet stream the receiving equipment detects
the event and reports it. The Results screen provides different result reports.
To view error or alarm results:
1. From Packet tab, select Results .
2. The Results screen contains the following functions:
