Step 2:
Operation of the amplifier
The proper operation of the unit will maximize the safety of the speaker and of the amplifier
itself. We recommend you to comply with the operation steps as described below:
•
Before powering the unit, the Ai6 will preset the volume to the minimum
automatically.
The Ai4 automatically makes a self-diagnose
. During this, the signal
indication light is quickly flashing on the front panel.
After this, the connection of the source is effective and sound can go to the
speakers. Wait a short while after powering on, and then adjust the volume
knob gradually to the desired volume.
•
Comply with the correct power on and power off procedure: powering on the
amplifier shall be done after the source (for example CD player, Tuner…), and
powering off the amplifier shall be done before the source.
•
Always try to avoid selecting input signal when the volume is at high/maximum
level.
•
Extreme high volume has an adverse effect on your speakers. Avoid extreme
high volume when the amplifier is working.
•
Instruction for button/knobs located on the front panel
Input Signal Selection Button
There are 5 input signal terminals available for selection. By pressing a certain button,
the corresponding signal will be put into the preamplifier.
Power On/Off button
The power on/off button controls the power on or off of the unit.
When this button is pushed, the power is on and the input signal indication light starts
to flash quickly on the front panel: the Ai6 starts to warm up.
After a short period, the warm-up ends and the light stays fix. The Ai6 is now ready to
run. When the button is released, the power is turned off.
Volume Control Know
You can turn this knob to change the output signal level from preamplifier, as well as
control the speaker volume. Before turning the unit on or off and change the source,
turn the knob counter clockwise to the minimum volume position.
Note:
The Vecteur Ai4 has a large power output capacity.
If you don’t know the dynamic range content of the music you are listening to, do not
turn the volume up without some care, as high output could damage speaker and
amplifier under certain circumstances.
