2.Then connect to the ISDN network
using the supplied cable. Use the
second socket from the right on the
VICO VICO VICO VICO
. If further ISDN terminal
equipment is to be used on the same
S
0
bus, e.g. telephone, fax, com-
puter, these devices should be con-
nected to the ISDN output.
3.Finally connect the power supply us-
ing the provided plug-type power
supply unit. The unit is already fitted
with a plug-on screw terminal which
can be plugged onto the three pins on
the board.
Note:
First make the connection to the
board before you connect the power
supply unit to the mains socket.
4.The green Power LED on the left then
lights up. The
VICO VICO VICO VICO
unit is ready to
establish a connection to a video tele-
phone, a computer with the supplied
PROVILite PROVILite PROVILite PROVILite
software, or other
H.320-compatible terminal equip-
ment.
If the display does not light up
Make sure that the screw terminal
block on the end of the cable has been
completely pushed onto the board pins
and that none of the pins remains free.
Make sure that the used socket is live.
Check the built-in fuse.
The unit must be replaced if the dis-
play still does not light up despite cor-
rect installation.
First connection
You need the number of the used ISDN
connection in order to establish the
first connection.
1.If you wish to use a PC with ISDN
card as the partner, first install the
supplied
PROVILite PROVILite PROVILite PROVILite
software. The
installation is described in the soft-
ware manual.
2.Now dial your own number from a
video telephone or from the software
(see
PROVILite PROVILite PROVILite PROVILite
manual).
Note:
If you are not using a private ISDN
branch exchange, you require both
so-called B channels of your connec-
tion. Therefore make sure that a con-
nection is not occupied by a tele-
phone call or active fax connected in
parallel.
3.The
VICO VICO VICO VICO
equipment will now an-
swer the call. At least one of the or-
ange displays B1 or B2 should light
up to indicate that an active connec-
tion exists.
Note:
If you use the same ISDN connection
for the
VICO VICO VICO VICO
equipment and the
partner, i.e. the video telephone or
PC, only one of the displays B1 or B2
can light up since the other channel
is occupied by the partner. To permit
a connection to both B channels, you
require either a private branch ex-
change with 2 internal S
0
buses or a
second ISDN S
0
connection.
4.The picture of the connected camera
now appears on the display.
