OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Never aim the laser beam pointer at the eyes of a person or animal or
an object other than the work piece.
Follow these steps to measure surface temperature of an object in most applications . See next section for additional
measurement features .
1 . Aim the thermometer at the object and squeeze the trigger for at least 3 seconds, “SCAN” icon will appear on the
display during measurement . Use the laser pointer to aim at the object more accurately .
2 . Release the trigger to display the “Most Recent” temperature reading . The display will “Remain” and automatically
will shut off after Approximately 1 minute .
3 . For accurate temperature measurement ALWAYS follow the D:S (11:1) ratio rule . For example, if the diameter
of the surface (S) is 1 ft ., the distance (D) between the IR thermometer and surface should be LESS than 11 ft .
For the most accurate readings, the distance between the thermometer and the target should be 1/2 of D or
1/2 x D:S x target diameter . For our example:
Optimum Distance = 1/2 x 11 x 1ft = 5 .5ft for the target diameter of 1ft .
NOTE: Temperature measurement will not be accurate off shiny objects (such as stainless
steel, gold, aluminum wrapping) or through glass or windows.
