2.5.4 Sharpening, replacing the work tool
If the work tool blades are worn or damaged, cause the machine to vibration, the blades need to be restored or replaced. Even though
the work tool is made from high quality hardened steel, blade wear occurs leading to less efficient cutting.
The machine must be standing on a solid base and secured such that it affords goods access to the blade and
spontaneous movement of the machine does not occur.
To remove the
blade
(

, first loosen and remove the

. Then loosen

and remove. Take out the

.
The manufacturer disclaims any liability for damage to property or injury caused by the machine or to the
machine when replacing the work tool with a non-original part. A symbol is imprinted on the blade that
designates the manufacturer and it serves as an inspection symbol that the blade is an original replacement part!
If the screws (
4
or
5
) are damaged, replace them with new ones!
The nuts
1
are self-locking (with plastic insert). Always replace them with new ones when removing!
If the work tool has cracks, the blade or blade holder must immediately be replaced with a new one!
If you are not sufficiently technically competent, assign this task to a professional service centre.
We recommend that the quality of the blade is inspected after every 10 hours of use to ensure quality processing of the
vegetation, especially if the machine works under highly demanding conditions!
Take particular care when removing the blade. The blades edges are sharp. Protect hands with work gloves.
Never remove the blade for sharpening while the catcher is pressed on the shaft. The bearing seal may be damaged
and the bearing may be subsequently damaged during use!
Take a few seconds of your time to tighten the screw connections of the work tool prior to beginning work with the machine and after
each impact of the blade into a solid obstacle!
Failure to follow this principle places you at risk of injury if the work tool ever becomes loose!
The blade must always be balanced after every sharpening! An unbalanced blade causes machine vibration and
damage!
2.5.5 Belt drives, automatic brake
The machine is equipped with modern belts that do not require any particular care. They only require regular inspection and replacement
in the event that their surfaces contain cracks or tears. Factory setting of the tension pulleys must be inspected after approx. 5 hours of
use, after the belts are run in. When running in, the tension pulley function must be inspected to prevent damage caused by insufficient
tension of the pulley due to belt extension. The blade automatic brake must also be checked when running in.
2.5.5.1 Adjusting the belt drive tension pulleys
You can check the proper function of the tension pulleys using the following simple test.
The machine with the wheel drive turned on must overcome a surface unevenness of 10 cm – e.g. kerb is
suitable.
The belt begins to drift (the work tool spins) already when the work tool clutch lever is 1/3 depressed.
If at least one of the inspections fail, the tension pulleys must be adjusted!
If you are not sufficiently technically competent, assign this task to a professional service centre.
