TENT PITCHING INSTRUCTIONS – SIGMA 300 (UK)
Flysheet First Pitching
1.
Assemble poles and lay them parallel on the ground.
(3 poles; 2 long and 1 short) The poles are colour coded to match the corresponding pole sleeve.
2.
Open out flysheet and position in required direction. Insert the two longer poles diagonally through pole sleeves on outside
of flysheet.
3.
Insert the shorter porch pole into front pole sleeve over doorway.
4.
Locate one end of each diagonal pole onto pin system at flysheet corners (see figure 1).
5.
Push each diagonal pole into an arch from opposite end and locate pole ends onto corresponding pin system.
6.
Locate one end of the porch pole onto corresponding pin system.
7.
Push porch pole into an arch from opposite side and locate pole end onto pin system.
8.
Peg down all rings of ring and pin system using pin-pegs. (see figure 2)
9.
Pull out porch doorway and peg down elastic pegging points at the base using pin-pegs.
10.
Peg out all remaining shock-cord pegging points on the base of the flysheet using pin-pegs.
11.
Peg out ALL guy lines using pin-pegs ensuring that guy line fabric attachment points are evenly tensioned.
Inner
1.
Open out inner tent inside flysheet and position doorway to correspond with the porch entrance of the flysheet.
2.
Starting from the rear corners of the tent, attach the hooks on the groundsheet to corresponding rings on the base of the
flysheet.
3.
Suspend the inner by attaching hooks of inner tent with rings on inside of flysheet. Start at the rear and work forwards.
4.
Attach hooks on front of groundsheet, to corresponding rings on base of flysheet.
The inner tent and flysheet can remain attached when pitching or packing. However, in humid or very wet weather, the
underside of the flysheet may be coated with condensation. If this occurs, it may be advisable to detach the inner and pack it
separately to avoid the inner tent becoming wet.
