CL1
is an optional module of the City1 control unit that
permits to perform the following 4 functions:
1. Function Lock:
it permits to exit the configuration menu of
the City1 control unit locking the access, so that it is not
possible to enter using the menu key.
2. Function Unlock:
it permits to enter the configuration menu
of the City1 control unit when it has been locked with the
same CL1 key.
3. Function Upload:
it permits to upload into its own memory
the control unit configuration data so that you can duplicate
them into another unit.
4. Function Download:
it permits to download into the control
unit the configuration data stored in its own memory.
Hereafter are described the procedures to perform the four
functions.

CAUTION:
• Be very careful about the insertion verse of the module.
• The CL1 electronic circuit is sensitive to electrostatic
discharge, so before you handle the board please touch a
metal surface in order to discharge possible charges.
Function Lock
• Enter the configuration menu (if the control unit is locked you
must use the Unlock procedure).
• Perform possible configurations.
• Go to item
FinE
(you need not press the menu key to confirm).
• Insert the key into the option connector (or, if its in already,
press the key button).
• The key sends its own code: the control unit stores it, exits
the configuration menu and inhibits the access by means of
the menu key.

CAUTION:
if you exit the configuration menu in the
standard way (
FinE -> Si
) or for time out (you do not press any
key for 1 minute) the control units is unlocked even if you
entered the configuration performing the Unlock procedure.
Function Unlock
• Insert the key into the option connector of the locked
control unit.
• The key sends its own code and if it matches the one used
to lock the configuration, the control unit goes directly into
the configuration menu (you need not press the menu key)
Function Upload
• Insert the key into the option connector and verify that the
control unit is not in configuration mode on the
dEF
item.
• Press and hold the key button.
• After 2 seconds the led starts blinking slowly.
• Release the button wile the led is blinking.
• The led stays on while the key polls the control unit, then it
goes off. Now you can extract the key.

CAUTION:
If the procedure should hang, after 10 seconds
the led goes halftone and you cannot perform any other
operation: you must extract the key and repeat the procedure.
Function Download
• Insert the key into the option connector at any time.
• Enter the configuration menu.
• Stay on the
dEF
item (you need not confirm with the
menu key).
• Press and hold the key button; immediately the led starts
blinking quickly. The function can be aborted if the button is
release while the led is blinking quickly.
• After 4 seconds the led stays on and the key starts sending
data to the control unit. While the led is on you can release
the button.
• When the data exchange is over the led goes off. Now you
can extract the key.

CAUTION:
Before it sends the data, the key verifies that
the control unit is compatible with the one from which the data
were read. If they are not compatible the led sends 4 couples
of short blinks, then it goes off; copy of data is not performed.
If the procedure should hang, after 10 seconds the led goes
halftone and you cannot perform any other operation: you must
extract the key and repeat the procedure.
