Adding washing detergent
Detergent dosage
Adding too much washing detergent can cause excess foaming,
giving a poor wash result and, in the worst case, causing damage
to the appliance.
The amount of detergent required depends on the degree of soiling as well as
the wash load, the hardness of the water and the product being used. Adjust
the dosage accordingly. Follow the detergent manufacturer’s dosing instruc-
tions. The hardness of the water is measured using the French degree of water
hardness (˚fH) and is subdivided into three categories:
•
soft
0 °fH
to
15 °fH
•
medium
15 °fH
to
25 °fH
•
hard
over
25 °fH*
* Use water softener and reduce washing detergent dosage
The local water authorities can provide information on the level of water hard-
ness in your area.
