5.2 Metal grease filter with integrated long-life charcoal
filter
The filters can be cleaned and reactivated (activated charcoal filters). They
must be cleaned at least once a month with normal use.
The activated charcoal filters must be replaced after about 3 years
because their ability to absorb smells will be reduced. The spent acti-
vated charcoal filters can be disposed of in the household waste.
Cleaning the grease filter and the activated charcoal filter
The filters can be cleaned in the dishwasher at 65 °C (intensive programme).
The filters can otherwise be left to soak in the sink for an hour at 60 °C using
water and standard washing-up liquid. Rinse well afterwards.
Cleaning may cause the grease filter to become discoloured. -
However, this will not affect the functioning of the filter in any way.
Drying/reactivating the activated charcoal filter
To reactivate the activated charcoal, the activated charcoal filter has to be
dried in the oven.
Select top/bottom heat or hot air at 100 °C and leave the activated char-
coal filter to dry on the wire shelf for at least 60 minutes
