If the fault is affecting the whole riser –
Assuming that the configuration and DIP switches have been checked first and are correct –
Note that 38 to 48V DC should be
present at all of the 2Voice system
LINE connections all of the time
Does the
monitor or
handset now
work?
Disconnect LINE 1 (and LINE 2 if
connected) of the 1083/59 Gateway.
Connect a monitor or handset using
a new short piece of cable directly to
LINE 1 of the 1083/59.
The fault is in the riser.
Connect one 1083/55 Distributor at a time (each time
testing the monitors or handsets) until the system
stops working.
Note that it will be necessary to move the termination
jumper on the 1083/55 each time – see Page 7
Check DC volts at LINE 1
of the 1083/59 Gateway.
There should be between
38 and 48V DC

Double check the system configuration and DIP switch settings
Check for 38 to 48V DC at the LINE connection of the
monitor/handset
Consider connecting a different monitor/handset directly to the
1083/59
Email the site configuration file to technical@urmet.co.uk with a
description of the issue

1083/59. There should be

If possible, replace the 1083/59 Gateway.

the 1083/20 and 1083/59

Disconnect the 1083/20 LINE 1.
Switch off the mains supply. Wait
five minutes. Switch on the
mains supply. Check again for
38 to 48V DC.
Yes
Check the cable between the 1083/20 and 1083/59
If possible, replace the 1083/59 Gateway.
