not use tools which can damage the O-
ring and sealing surfaces.
Pressure Equalizing Vent
The UK300 is made waterproof with
high pressure O-ring seals. Air and
gases from battery leakage, however,
can pass freely in and out of the light
through a special vent located in the
rear of the light case. If this vent is
damaged, it must be replaced in order
for the UK300 to be waterproof. To
replace the vent, carefully pry it out of
its socket and push the spare back
in.The O-ring should be clean and very
lightly lubricated with silicone grease.
Care and Maintenance
•
Keep the area around the O-ring
seals clean.
•
To prolong lamp life after loading
fresh batteries, it is better to turn the
light on for several minutes to “age” the
batteries ratherthan flicking it on and
off many times.
•
If the light floods with water, empty
the contents immediately, rinse with
fresh water and dry completely before
reassembly.
•
To insure that active hydrogen
removal catalyst is present in the light,
replacethe reflector lamp if it gets wet.
•
Do not store batteries in the light for
long periods of time. They may leak
and damage the light.
Thank you for purchasing this
Underwater Kinetics product. You
will find it to be incredibly bright,
compact and ready when you
need it.
For over a quarter century,
Underwater Kinetics has been
designing and manufacturing
lights for the harshest environ-
ments and most difficult applica-
tions. We designed these lights
to be incredibly bright, rugged,
compact, waterproof, dustproof,
noncorroding and electrically non-
conductive. We also added fea-
tures such as custom optical qual-
ity reflectors, xenon filled lamps,
side-by-side battery configura-
tions, engineering-grade plastics
and molded construction. Our
lights are used by fire fighters and
workers in extremely tough indus-
trial situations. They are a stan-
dard for scuba divers.
With minimal care your
Underwater Kinetics light will give
you years of trouble-free service.
On/Off
Screw the bezel down by twist-
ing clockwise until the lamp
comes ON. Turn the light OFF
with at least 2-1/2 counterclock-
wise turns of the bezel.
Battery Insertion
The UK300 contains a unique
polarized battery holder which
prevents damage to the light from
improperly loaded cells. Three
alkaline C-size batteries should
be inserted into the holder accord-
ing to the diagram on the side of
the holder or in these instructions
.
If a battery is inserted backward,
the UK300 will not work.
O-Ring Seal
The O-ring and sealing surfaces
must be kept clean and lubricated
with silicone grease in order to
maintain the watertight seal and
smooth rotation of the bezel.
During cleaning remove the
O-ring using only your fingers. Do
CAUTION
Batteries which are (1) loaded with-
out observing the proper polarity,
(2) are not the same type, brand
name and age or (3) are completely
discharged can vent hydrogen gas
and possibly cause an explosion.
• Load batteries according to the
diagram shown on the light or in
these instructions.
• Do not mix batteries of different
type, brand name or age.
• Discard all batteries as soon as
they are drained or no longer produce
light.
