Keys 7 to 14 operate in three different modes:  Normal, Multiplexer and VCR.

To lock the controller in Multiplexer mode, press the Multiplexer key twice. 

To lock the controller in VCR mode, press the VCR key twice.  

The LED lights to show the mode of operation.
