SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The lantern must only be used in
well-ventilated areas!
The lantern must not be exposed to
precipitation and must be protected
from the elements during use and
storage.
The lantern must be placed on a firm,
level surface before being lit.
This surface must be non-flammable,
e.g. flagstones, paving stones or packed
earth.
There must be no combustible objects
such as grass, plants or rubbish under
or near the lantern.
Keep the lantern at a distance of mini-
mum 1 m from combustible materials
during use.
NOTE! Do not move the lantern whilst
it is lit or hot. Never use the lantern
indoors.
WARNING!
Accessible parts can be-
come very hot. Keep children and pets
at a safe distance from the lantern.
The gas cartridges must be replaced
outside, away from any kind of ignition
source, e.g. a naked flame, pilot light,
electric heater, etc. and away from
people.
Make sure that the gas cartridge is
empty before replacing it (shake the
cartridge to hear the noise made by the
liquid).
Check that burners are extinguished
before disconnecting the gas cartridge
or gas cylinder.
If there is a leak on your appliance
(smell of gas), take it outside immedi-
ately into a well ventilated flame free lo-
cation, where the leak may be detected
and stopped. If you wish to check for
leaks on your appliance, do it outside.
Do not try to detect leaks using a flame,
use soapy water.
Do not use the appliance if it has dam-
aged or worn gaskets.
Do not modify the appliance.
Check that seals (between the appliance
and the gas cartridge or gas cylinder)
are in place and in good condition
before connecting to the gas cartridge
or gas cylinder.
WARNING:
The appliance shall be used in a well
ventilated location in accordance with
national requirements:
— for the supply of combustion air;
— and to avoid the dangerous building
up of un-burnt gases for appliances not
fitted with a flame supervision device.
