General description
Baseline and brakeline adjustment
Th
e factory brake-line setting corresponds to 0-free travel plus 5 cm. Its is recommended to adjust
your brake line travel aft er the fi rst fl ight to your personal preferences. Be aware not to adjust the
brakes too short, otherwise the glider may fl y with a little, but continuous applied brake pressure.
Th
is could be extremely dangerous during takeoff , fl ight and landing!
Th
e afore mentioned factory brake setting allows for ample brake travel in extreme fl ight situations
as well as for landing.
At the same time it enables during fl ight at trim-speed a position of comfort
for the pilots arms.
In no case the setup A, B and C main lines should be changed before the wing has been fl own in the
original setup.
Please also note that adjusting the height of the suspension to the hangpoints on the
harness, changes the relative braking travel. When setting the adjustment it is to be made certain
that both sides are symmetrical and that a permanent knot is used. Th
e bowline works particularly
well because of the fact that it weakens the lines the least with excellent slip resistance.
Lines and risers
On the U-Turn THRILLER X3 we use Liros lines: LTC45, LTC65, LTC80, LTC120,
and LTC 160
specially braided competition lines made of sheathless kevlar with Nanokoating as
well as
TSL 190, TSL 220, TSL 280, TSL 380 and DSL350
(TSL = Aramid core). Lines proven by
their high tensile strength and are virtually immune to breaking. Th
eir stretch resistance prevents a
change in the fl ight characteristics by uneven lenghtening aft er short period of use. Th
e use of dif-
ferent line diameters allows a good correlation of uncompromised safety, between line tension and
minimized line drag in fl ight.
