2.8 - Installing the Memory
Before installing memory, ensure that the memory you have is compatible with
the motherboard and processor.
Overview
The motherboard comes with twelve Double Data Rate 3
（
DDR3
）
Dual Inline
Memory Modules (DIMM) sockets. The figure below illustrates the location of
the DDR3 DIMM sockets.

TYAN
®
S8228 series support up to 96GB Registered DDR-3 memory.
•
DDR3 800/1066/1333MHz RDIMM, UDIMM
are supported.
•
All installed memory will automatically be detected and no jumpers or
settings need changing.
•
All memory must be of the same type and density.
1). For the DIMM number please refer to the motherboard placement in
“ 2.3 - Board Parts, Jumpers and Connectors ” for memory installation.

memory installation instruction.
