2.5 – Processors and Frequency Settings
The Thunder GC-HE supports the following processors:

Intel Xeon MP: from single processor up to 4 processors
²
Intel Xeon DP: from single processor up to 2 processors
Xeon DP processors allow 2 concurrent processors while Xeon MP processors allow 4
concurrent processors.
Key Message:
²
Install the same type (Foster, Gallatin or Prestonia) and same frequency of processors on
a Thunder GC-HE board. Thunder GC-HE does not support mixed Xeon MP and Xeon DP
configuration on a single board.
²
Must install processors in order, starting from CPU1 and proceeding to CPU4 (See Page 7)
²
Thunder GC-HE supports BIOS auto settings of processors, except for Foster 1.4 GHz, 1.5
GHz and 1.6 GHz MP processors.
²
For Foster 1.4 GHz, 1.5 GHz and 1.6 GHz MP processors, the processor frequencies must
be set by SW2 DIP switches.
