Note: Many Tuthill pumps are provided with non-standard clearances for use with high viscosity 
or high temperature fluids. Consult the factory for clearances of these pumps. 
 
 

1.  REFIT COUPLING AND GUARD: 
 

If you have been able to take advantage of the modular design of this pump, the complete 
overhaul has been accomplished without removal of the housing from the base plate or 
piping.  Thus, your original coupling alignment should be intact. 
 
Refit the coupling and spacer, double-check alignment and complete any final adjustments. 
 
 
 

Safety Relief Valve Instructions 

 
Tuthill provides safety relief valves on pumps for over-pressure protection only.  They are not 
intended for use as flow control devices or any other similar use.

Continuous operation of the valve results in excessive heat build up within the pumping cavity,
