General safety instructions
Read this manual completely before using the device. The device may only be operated by qualified personnel.
It is the responsibility of the machine builder, engineer and and/or servicing personnel to use and maintain this
product in full compliance with all applicable regulations and standards.

4.1
Device description
The 1-channel TURCK IO-Link master is connected to a PC via the USB-B port and controls the communication with
the connected IO-Link device.
The device meets the IO-Link specification 1.1. Compared to version 1.0, the IO-Link master V1.1 has also the fol-
lowing properties:

Parameter assignment server function (Data storage)
■
Data transmission rate 230.4 kbps ( mandatory for IO-Link master)
■
Process data width per port up to 32 bytes
Combination of IO-Link devices
In principle, any combination of IO-Link masters and IO-Link devices is possible. Please note, however the respec-
tive system limits (e.g. max. size of user data of the IO-Link master). If IO-Link devices with different IO-Link speci-
fications are combined, the following points must be observed:

Only IO-Link devices acc. to V1.0 can be operated on the IO-Link master acc. to V1.0.
■
IO-Link devices acc. to V1.0 and V1.1 can be operated on the IO-Link master acc. to V1.1.
■
The parameter assignment server function and the data transmission rate of 230.4 kbps are only usable, if
these functions are also supported by the connected IO-Link device.
