Application Instructions
figure’s left leg and the figure’s visible waistline. POSITION the
edge of the Film along the parting line that runs down the figure’s
left leg.
5.
Using your flattening tool, SET
only the leg stripe edge
of the Film
to the figure’s left leg along the parting line. Now, both leg stripe
edges are SET to the figure, while the rest of the Film hangs down
below the waist.
6.
Using your flattening tool, now SET the waistline to the figure.
There may be some excess Film that bunches in this area, but
don’t be concerned, it will be partially covered by the Uni-Forms
jersey when applied later.
7.
At this point, there should be three Film “flaps” on the pants that
are UNSET: two leg flaps and a central groin flap. The leg flaps
will be SET first, so push the groin flap up and out of your way for
now.
8.
Gently SET the leg flaps to the backs of the figure’s legs with your
flattening tool. Start at the leg stripe and work your way around
toward the inside back of each leg, FLATTENING as you go. Do
small sections at a time to ensure the Film is applied smoothly.
9.
Now pull the groin flap up between the legs and toward the front.
The Film can stretch slightly and can fill any gaps in the Film
between the legs. Now SET and FLATTEN the rest of the Film
between the legs.
10.
To finish the back of the pants, press your finger against the Film
to SET it completely and FLATTEN out any wrinkles. Don’t be
concerned if small wrinkles appear when applying your Uni-
Forms. In some spots, wrinkles may be unavoidable and can
actually add to the realism of the figure. Real uniforms fold and
wrinkle too!
Film 2: Pants Front, Right Side
1.
Locate and remove Film
2
from the Uni-Forms Film Sheet.
2.
POSITION the edge of the Film to be applied with the right leg
stripe edge of Film 1 that you just applied. The two Film edges
should fit together along that parting line. If you are having
trouble aligning the edges, you may be trying to apply the Film to
the wrong leg, using the wrong edge, or you’re using a Film
Pattern from the wrong Film Sheet.
3.
SET
only the edge
of the Film to the figure’s right leg along the
parting line. Be sure to SET the Film’s edge well by pressing with
your flattening tool. The two Films should fit together along the
parting line with no major overlaps or gaps.
4.
Gently stretch the Film over the right leg and adhere on the inside
of the leg. As you stretch the Film over the leg, you should see the
figure’s padding details start to show through. Be gentle while
stretching the Film to avoid rips. Don’t worry too much about the
accuracy of the front belt line, it will be covered by the Uni-Forms
Jersey Front when applied later.
5.
To finish the Pants Front, Right Side Film Pattern, press your
finger against the Film to SET and FLATTEN it completely. You
can use your flattening tool or a fingernail to bring out more of the
molded details of the leg padding underneath.
Film 3: Pants Front, Left Side
1.
Locate and remove Film 3 from the Uni-Forms Film Sheet.
2.
POSITION the edge of the Film along the left leg stripe edge of
Film 1. The two Film edges should fit together along the parting
line.
3.
As before, SET
ONLY the edge of the Film
to the figure’s left leg
along the parting line. Be sure to SET the Film well by pressing
with your flattening tool.
4.
Gently stretch the Film over the left leg and SET and FLATTEN it
on the inside of the leg. Be gentle while stretching the Film to
avoid tearing or puncturing the Film.
5.
To finish the front left section of the pants, press your finger
against the Film to SET and FLATTEN it completely. You can use
your flattening tool or your fingernails to bring out more of the
molded details of the leg padding underneath.

TIP: Pressure-sensitive Uni-Forms film reacts to pressure
by activating its adhesive layer when SETTING or
FLATTENING Films to figures. If you SET one area and
then SET another without first FLATTENING the area
between them, wrinkles will appear. Always SET an area
first, then FLATTEN the remaining area toward the edge.
