The  advanced  mode  allows  you  to  program  user  preferences, 
activate  features  and  use  advanced  functions  (see  Radio 
Features Explained).
To  access  the  advanced  mode,  turn  on  the  radio  whilst  pressing 
and holding the SQUELCH button and SCAN button.
Each  press  of  the  MODE  button  steps  the  radio  sequentially 
though  the  different  functions.  The  radio  display  indicates  the 
current function. The present setting and associated icon flash.
Use the UP or DOWN button to change the setting. Press the PTT 
or MODE button or wait for 5 seconds to store your choice. If you 
do  not  press  any  key  for  5  seconds  your  radio  will  return  to 
standby mode automatically. If the radio is turned off and turn on 
again  without  pressing  any  buttons,  the  radio  will  return  to  the 
user mode.
