Charger
For optimum battery charging, we recommend the
BC 10 charger (part of the PowerSet BC), which is suitable
for all battery types up to 200 Ah.
Battery care (including maintenance-free
batteries)
The following points should be noted to achieve a long battery
service life:
– Batteries should be fully charged before and after current
consumption
– During downtimes longer than 24 hours, interrupt the
circuit (e.g. disconnect the battery poles)
– During longer downtimes, the battery must be
disconnected and charged a minimum of every 12 weeks
for 24 hours.
In winter, store fully charged batteries in a cool and frost-
free place and regularly recharge them (every 12 weeks)
Battery handling instructions
– When handling batteries, observe the safety instructions
and data sheets of the manufacturer.
– Ensure that the terminal clamps are securely positioned.
– Secure battery poles with protection caps in order to
prevent a short circuit.
– When removing the battery, firstly isolate the earth
connection (negative terminal), then the positive terminal
from the battery. When installing the battery, firstly connect
the positive terminal and then the negative terminal.
Functional description
The Mover is a manoeuvring system, with which a caravan
can be moved without the aid of the towing vehicle.
The Mover was developed to overcome inclines of up to 13%
at the respective permissible overall weight on a suitable
surface.
It comprises two separate drive units, which each have
their own 12 V D.C. motor. These units are installed in the
immediate vicinity of the wheels on the chassis and are
connected using crossbars.
After engaging the drive rollers on the wheels, the Mover is
ready for use. Manoeuvring is exclusively performed using the
remote control. This transmits radio signals to the control unit.
A specially installed 12 V battery (not included with delivery /
see also “Batteries”) supplies power to the control unit.
Approval
The Truma Mover is type-tested and has been awarded a type
approval (ABE) for Germany. Approval from an automotive
expert is not required (exception when installing the low
chassis kit). The ABE must be in the vehicle.
The Mover meets further requirements from EC directives and
standards (see declaration of conformity).
Any change to the appliance, opening of the housing or use
of spare parts and key functional accessories that are not
Truma original parts, as well as the failure to comply with
the installation and operating instructions, will invalidate the
warranty and exclude liability claims. The appliance’s type
approval shall also be invalidated.
– When jacking up the Mover, it must
not
be used as a
support point, as otherwise this may damage the drive unit.
– Delicate objects, such as cameras, DVD players, etc. must
not be kept in storage boxes in the vicinity of the control
unit or motor cables. The strong electromagnetic fields may
damage them.
– The empty weight of the vehicle increases by the weight of
the Mover, thereby reducing the payload of the vehicle.
– During engagement, ensure that no objects (e.g. stones,
lumps of ice) are located particularly between the drive
roller and tyres.
– Inspect the system for damage prior to use.
Use of the system is not permitted if damaged.
General information
Depending on the weight of the caravan, the Mover is not
able to overcome obstacles with a height of about 20 mm
without any tools (please use ramp).
Ramps must have a maximum incline of 25°! Otherwise the
incline cannot be overcome, depending on the weight of the
vehicle. Stepped ramps often have greater inclines and are
unsuitable for use with a Mover.
Due to the characteristic properties of a radio signal, this can
be interrupted by terrain/objects. As a result, the reception
quality is reduced in small areas around the caravan, whereby
operation of the Mover may possibly be interrupted. If
possible, reduce the distance between the control unit and
remote control
(maintain a safe distance!)
.
Following switch-off of the Mover with the remote
control, the control unit continues in standby. For
complete switch-off, the control unit must be disconnected
from the power supply via the installed battery cut-off switch.
Power supply
We recommend the PowerSet BC and one of the powerful
Optima® batteries for optimum operation. So-called drive,
lighting and gel batteries with sufficient capacity are also
suitable.

Recommended battery capacities
The 12 V ( ) battery used must have been certified in
accordance with the national standards and regulations
