12 V
voltage supply
Electric cables and switching and control equipment for
heaters must be in locations that will not cause the opera-
tion thereof to be adversely affected under normal operating
conditions. The openings for all cables leading to the outside
must be protected from spray water.
Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before start-
ing to work on electrical components. Switching off at the
control panel is insufficient.
The appliance must be disconnected from the on-board pow-
er supply when electric welding work is being carried out on
the body.
Attach the 12 V connector cable to the Truma E-Kit’s elec-
tronics and connect to the 12 V power supply. Protect the
positive cable with a 1 A fuse (included) near to the positive
terminal of the power source.

230 V
voltage supply
The 230 V electrical connection must always be
made by an expert (in Germany for example in accord-
ance with VDE 0100, part 721 or IEC 60364-7-721). These
instructions are intended only as additional information for a
qualified electrician; electrical work should not be carried out
by unqualified persons.
Connect the mains cable that has been routed to the connect-
ing point.
Route the connector cables in such a way that they cannot
chafe. Also use lead-through bushings or edge protection pro-
files at sharp edges such as metal panel lead-throughs. The
connector cables must not be secured to or touch the exhaust
duct (of the Truma VarioHeat), the housing or the warm air
ducts of the Truma E-Kit (minimum clearance: 5 cm).
All cables must be secured with clamps!
An insulating appliance for providing all-pole insulation from
the mains with contact clearance of at least 3.5 mm must be
provided at the vehicle end for carrying out maintenance and
repair work.
Truma E-Kit control unit
Use TIN connecting cables to connect the Truma VarioHeat and
the Truma CP plus VarioHeat control panel to the Truma E-Kit.

Function check
Next, check all of the appliance’s functions in accordance with
the operating instructions for the Truma CP plus VarioHeat.
The operating instructions must be handed over to the vehicle
owner.
The year when the equipment was first put into opera-
tion must be indicated with a cross on the type plate.
